At Brass Neck Live, we keep things simple, fair, and flexible so that venues, artists, and audiences all get the best experience. These are the core guidelines we work to:

Booking

  • All bookings are made around 2 months in advance.

  • If you need to cancel or add a date, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • We will do our best to keep track of football fixtures and other major sporting events, but with so many leagues and cups, it’s not always possible. Please flag any dates where you know you’ll want live music cancelled, moved, or adjusted (I am trying to get some pipers for national games).

Cancellations

  • If a venue needs to cancel, we will try to rearrange the date or move the act to another venue where possible.

  • If a venue double books or cancels on the day, the booked act will still be paid in full.

  • If a musician needs to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. We always do our best to cover any cancellations however, may need help. If you have someone available to cover, pass them forward to be approved. Under no circumstances should a musician who hasn’t been booked be sent to a venue without prior approval.

Payment & Invoicing

  • Musicians must always be paid within 30 days.

  • For Event UK/Just Pay invoices, acts will usually send these directly.

  • For Concur invoices, we will generally submit these on behalf of the acts to ensure smooth processing (we all know what Concur can be like!).

Expectations & Good Practice

  • Venues should provide:

    - A clear space for the act to set up (please reserve tables in advance, where necessary, to avoid awkward conversations with customers later).

    - Access to power sockets.

    - Offers of refreshments to Musicians on arrival (singing is thirsty work and most managers have agreed to provide post mix soft drinks).

  • For Musicians:

    - Ensure you arrive with plenty of time to set up and sound check (I know it goes without saying!).

    - Get in touch if running late or experiencing issues on the day, a quick text or call goes a long way in keeping everything running smoothly. If you can’t get through to Alex, please call the venue directly.

    - Send your invoices, where relevant, as soon as possible to alex@brassnecklive.com

  • For both:

    - Keep us updated if there are any issues or if a night goes particularly well. We are building communities together, it is important to know who fits best where.

    - Take photos and videos and tag @brassnecklive or send them forward.

We aim to keep nights running on time and to suit your venue’s needs, so good communication is key.
